In the beginning of the eighties it was the first time I arrived in the South of Spain. I saw an old arm chair below a bridge and this image of a furniture in the arid landscape remained engraved in my mind. Twenty years later this image emerges again, when I’m thinking in a project to situate a sculpture in front of the new Regional Tourist Office. I imagined that an arm chair carried out in red marble of Cehegín and moreover in double size could turn out right to resume the efforts of a town corporation, which announce itself as a ‚City of Services‘. I decide to equip the arm chair with a round table of iron, to underline the serviceable aspect. (catalogue text)
